Monday Made It- Owls!

I'm linking up for the fourth time with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics!  I love Mondays!

I got around to making something that I have needed for years but didn't even know I needed it! Pinterest, thank you!

My library consists of hundreds of books.  Every so often they start to fall apart.  When this happens my kids freak out!  They stop everyone around them and come and get me to fix it for them that very second.  This will happen no more thanks to this:
It's a book hospital!  So when a child finds a book that needs some repairs, they can put it in this bin and I can fix it when there is time.

Here is a side view.  I wanted it to match my Box Tops holder I made a few weeks ago.  This was my FIRST time using Mod Podge.  It was tricky but not as difficult as I thought it was going to be.  A word of warning, make sure you create things in good lighting.  I was kind of in the dark making this and I thought this paper was bright pink. Imagine my surprise when I took a picture and the flash showed it as purple! Still looks cute though.

This is what it started as:
It's just a book bin from Lakeshore.

This is where my inspiration came from:

I somehow ended up with an owl theme.  It all started with my owl binder covers and it evolved into an all out owl classroom.  I finally was able to get into my classroom and got to hang up some of the new goodies I put together from my Owl Themed Class set.

Owl-Phabet

Table Number Signs

Name Plates

I am loving these owls so much!  My kids write letters weekly and I wanted to make some cute stationary to go with our theme.
You can pick up a set HERE.

Thank you for stopping by! Now head over to 4th Grade Frolics and link up your projects:)

I made these rosettes with a die cutter. You can find the die on Stampin' Up here: http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=125594

  3. I love the owl papers. I am having a hard time sticking to a theme this year, but owls are quickly winning out! (But robots are cute, too... how can I leave them behind? And the polka dots... and bookworms...) *Sigh*

  4. "Owl" bet your kids are going to love your room! I sure do. My plan was to do owls this year, but our whole school is doing a Sports/Team theme so I had to put the owls away. Super cute!

  10. The book hospital is a fantastic idea! That way the kids know it will be taken care of but you don't have to stop everything and fix the book immediately! This is going on my "to-do" list. Thanks for sharing:)

    1. Exactly! We just don't have the time to stop everything and tape up a book right there on the spot.

    1. Gina,
I cut the owl and the nurse gear using my Cricut using two cartridges. The owl is from Hoot N' Holler and the nurse gear is from Every Day Paper Dolls.
