1. First of all my godson Ryan, was recently born! He is the most beautiful baby and he is sooo good! He hardly every cries and he lets everyone hold him. Just look at this sweet little face! My BFF is a lucky girl to have such a sweet, good, beautiful boy.
2. I was having a horrible day on Wednesday and for some reason something came over my kids and they all expressed how much they loved me, which is always nice to hear, but especially on a difficult day! They were saying some really funny stuff. I was even called the "King penguin of all teachers." Hahaha! And one of the kids said I was like a super hero, while another kid replied "She is, she is saving our brains!" Kids know exactly what to say don't they? One of them even brought me an early Valentine's gift. He thought Valentine's Day was the first day of February :)Here is one of my favorite drawings of the week. This little girl draws a picture for me EVERY SINGLE Day. She is such a good sweet kid and just loves to learn!
3. I took the plunge and purchased the camera I have wanted for close to two decades! It's been worth every penny and best of all, I was able to purchase it with my TPT funds, so it feels amazing every time I use it...which is very often! (It was also on a belated Black Friday sale at Sam's Club which helped out big time!)
4. My 31 bags came in the mail! I LOVE this pattern and the colors are gorgeous! I keep a file holder in my teacher bag to help me stay organized and it helps the bag keep it's shape too.
I had to order this 31 backpack, which is basically a camera bag. It has small compartments in it to hold the body and the lenses.
5. We had lots of fun studying penguins and learning about firefighters. We did this awesome craftivity from Teri at a Cupcake for the Teacher. I had no clue till now that my kids didn't know about fire safety! Yikes! It turned into a huge (and much needed) lesson. I take fire safety extremely seriously because something really horrible happened to a family member a few Christmases ago. We talk about it every year, which is really difficult to do, but it really drives the point home to my students.
This is one of my favorite penguin activities. The kids lift the little flaps and they can see what penguin lives in that area. This is from a Scholastic Book called Easy Make and Learn Projects: Penguins.
Yikes! I just noticed it's listed for $60 on Amazon. Would you like to own this book?? Leave a comment and I will be picking a person via Random.org to receive this book. Please make sure to leave your email address in your comment. Update: Winner is Kelly W. I am sending you your book tonight:)
I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching and Teaching Maddeness. Make sure to visit and link up your week's happenings.

Oh.My.Gosh! Your godson is just the most precious little bundle! What a super cute little guy! He looks like a little cuddle bug, for sure!

What a week! Don't you just love the things that come out of your kids' mouths? So sweet!! I had a little girl last year who drew a self portrait of me EVERY SINGLE day...in the outfit I was wearing that day. So precious! Love that 31 pattern, too! And, you'll love that camera! :)

Teaching Maddeness
Thanks Amanda! Kids have a way of making us feel so special! I can imagine those drawings your sweet girl must have drawn with your outfits. Lots of attention to detail there :)
DeleteJust found your blog & am so excited to be your newest follower. I am in L.O.V.E with your 31 bag. I have the same one, but I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade, because that pattern is to die for. Chevron makes me so happy! :) Anyway, just wanted to say 'hi" and can't wait to check out your TpT store for the big sale - I'm having a giveaway right now, so check it out!

Nice camera and 31 bags!!!!!!! Is the 31 bag too big for the camera? I love the new prints.
ReplyDeleteI have a 'nice' Nikon and one ugly camera bag. Looking for something!

My Second Sense
I thought it would be too big but it's just perfect. It also has a laptop slot and i was in need of a laptop case so it was totally worth it. It's just for hostesses though, so I went through ebay to get my bag. I read this review before I ordered it: http://stopdropandblog.com/2012/10/22/the-camera-backpack-ive-been-searching-for-found/
DeleteIt comes in two really cute patterns :)
