Light Box Craze and Organization!

-
Whoop whoop! The amazing Tara has started up Monday Made It weekly and I'm a *tad* excited :-) It's only my favorite link up ever!

So onto my Made Its!  Have you joined the light box craze?  Well, they are pretty amazing!  You can pick one up by clicking HERE. I got mine from Michael's and it was on sale for 40% off.  So as I was shopping I was about to buy a bunch of things to go with it and I needed letters.  I wasn't crazy about the letters that I saw there, so that got my creative juices flowing because I wanted something with cute images and fonts!  I got to work measuring my template and the end result turned out much better than I expected. This is what it looks like:

The best thing is that it looks great even when it's off! Just look below:Cute light box designs that you can customize!

Want to make your own? Just follow these steps:

1. Measure your slide openings.  This might vary depending on which light box you get.
2. Print your designs on transparency sheets.  (The old school kind we used to use with overhead projectors.) Make sure to get the right kind for your printer. I used laser jet ones with my ink jet and the ink did not adhere :-( So make sure to use the right kind your printer requires.

3. Cut and make sure to stay on the lines.  My trusty paper trimmer saved the day!

 4. Assemble it and make sure it lines up.

 5. Slide them in to your light box.  They slide in pretty easily :-)

Here are some other designs I put together!

Ummm…the possibilities are pretty endless!

I can't wait to start using it in the classroom!

If you would like to save yourself the hassle of measuring, I included a blank editable template in my light box set! (This must be used with the Heidi Swapp light box only)
Click below to see it in my shop ;-)

I have been super busy trying to get more organized! I made a couple of things to keep me on track!  The first being my binders.  I like to keep everything in binders and love having cute looking ones to look at.
Use these cute binders to stay organized!

I can't stop looking at them!

My last made it is something to help me stay on top of my weekly teacher duties.

Use these adorable teacher checklists to stay on top of weekly duties!
I'm thinking that this checklist will keep me on track!

That's it for me. What have you been up to? Make sure to check out Monday Made It for more teacher inspiration and link up to share your made-its!

  4. I seriously had the exact same thought as I was looking at the light boxes at Michael's. "I wonder if transparencies would work...?" Yours turned out so cute that I ditched my efforts and just bought your pack lol! When I was cleaning up my classroom on Friday I found a whole box of transparencies which gave me the idea once I saw the light box. Can't wait to create my own now with your awesome template! Thanks for sharing your awesome idea and work!

    1. I had some older ones but they were for a laser printer. I tried them with my ink jet and they smeared. I then ordered some from Amazon that were good to use with ink jet printers. Those worked like a charm :-)
