I’m back with some Valentine goodies. We created this craft last week but I didn’t get a chance to take some good pictures, so here they are:
This adorable craft is from A Cupcake for the Teacher. It is a Valentine must do! We mixed it up with some conversation heart writing and the kids made their own conversation hearts to put into the gumball machine. They wrote some cute stuff on theirs! I loved how they turned out!
Here is a close up of one of them:
So cute!
I made these Valentine cups for each of my students. They were so easy to assemble! I gave each student a Fruit Roll Up, some fruit gummies, two tiny erasers, and the bubble wands that you see on top. The kids freaked! I was shocked at how happy they were with them 🙂
To decorate the cups, I just used some scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby that was Valentine-ish. If you want more info on how to assemble these, check out THIS POST.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day on the 13th because we have an inservice day on the 14th. I think I would much rather be teaching my kids though… Anyway, we had a lot of fun and the kids brought me some goodies. I’m eyeing that big chocolate apple already.
This is my 4th and 5th item of my post. I used this anchor chart to review the way we use “a” and “an” in the English language. My kids are all ELL’s and really struggle with these grammar rules. Being an ELL myself I can totally relate.
Do you see the Washington crafts above my anchor chart? We also learned about George Washington, read some Scholastic Magazines about him, and did some close reading with Teacher to the Core’s American Heroes pack. I hope to get actual pictures of the Washington craft because they are very cute. Click HERE to see an up close shot of the ones my kids made last year. Cute stuff!
