Five For Friday {October 30th}

Five for Friday Time!  I didn't get a chance to link up last week, so here is a little recap :-)

1.  I had a crazy night with these items below!  Centers galore at my house!

2.  I was asked to present about our intervention program at school.  I am terrified of speaking in public.  Even though my nerves got to me more than once, I still think it went well :-)

3.  I don't know if it's because I'm a teacher, or because I'm obsessed with office supplies...but I can't get enough of Flair pens and notepads.

4.  I completely forgot that I had preordered this book. So when it showed up in the mail, I was ecstatic! I can't wait to read it to my kids!  Next month is Mo-vember after all!
5.  My class this year is facing serious struggles this year!  The kids, parents, and I have been working so hard to make progress. Today my kids were reading independently and it did my soul some good to see that happen!  This is why we teach <3 There is no other profession like it in the world!!!

Five For Friday {October 9, 2015}

It's Friday and the last day of conferences!  I've spent most of this week getting everything ready and organized to meet with parents.  After today I get to go home and get some R&R during fall break!  Onto my week:

1. We have been reading some fun books.  This one my kids just loved!

2.  This is also David Shannon month and my kids just love his art style!  Of course, their favorite titles are the No David books.

3.  After a couple of parents showed up way past their conference time, I thought about making some quick reminder stickers.  These did the trick!!

4.  I decided to hand out some books to help parents at home with some strategies.  My kids cannot afford to stop practicing at home for one whole week!

5.  I've been teaching for nine years and this whole time I have been cutting rubrics and stapling them onto my students' finished samples. This year I finally realized I could save myself time and energy by embedding the rubric right into the writing template! How did I not think of this before?

Five For Friday {October 2, 2015}

It's Five for Friday Time!  This is what I have been up to!

1. I went to Target and ran into this-
I want everything!

2. New month means it's time to send out newsletters and calendars.
The kids can hardly contain themselves with their excitement for Halloween and they can't wait to wear their costumes to school. kids can still dress up as long as they are dressed as characters from a book.  We call it a literacy parade.  Anyone else do this?

3. October also means it's time for parent conferences.  I love meeting with parents to share how much their children have progressed.  It's an awesome feeling!

 4. We have been working on our doubles facts and this page has come in handy!
